Invisible Office Chartered Accountants Tauranga

Our Story

Daryl and Sandra Bonney

In 1998, we opened Invisible Office Chartered Accountants with goals and experiences that have shaped our business in very special ways.

When we began

At the beginning, we saw ourselves and our accounting practice as a vital puzzle piece of the jigsaw that comprises any successful business. However, we realised our puzzle piece would always be largely invisible. So the name ‘Invisible Office’ was born.

We partner our clients

Back then, we knew we wanted more than just good relationships with our clients – we wanted to work in partnership with them. So today, every client has a dedicated client manager to work alongside them on their journey to business success, whatever that might look like for each of them.

We value longevity and loyalty

We have clients that have journeyed with us for many years, and a team member that has worked with us for over twenty years. Three different generations of accountants work in our office. We often say that we have an accountant on our team with just the right amount of grey hair to match each client!

We’re a family-based practice

When we opened IOCA, we had a young family of our own, and finding time for them was non-negotiable. We encourage everyone at IOCA to adopt a healthy work-life balance. Being flexible around study, family, or any curve balls that life throws in the way, is just part of the way we do things.

Meet the dedicated IOCA Team

We’re always learning and innovating

Accounting rules and business management tools have changed enormously, but we constantly strive to be exceptional at what we do. With over 1500 tax returns completed each year, and over 500 business clients, we have a sound grasp of what’s hot and what’s not in the local economy!

We have a passion for training

After qualifying as an accountant, Daryl realised his training had left many gaps. Addressing these shortfalls has fueled his passion for ensuring that the next generation is much better equipped to experience accounting as a vocation rather than just a 9 to 5 job.

We’re proud of our achievements

Because of Daryl’s teaching, IOCA is now an Approved Training Organisation with the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand.

Daryl’s passion for training has also been recognised by the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand who awarded him a Fellowship for his outstanding contribution to the profession of accountancy through his teaching.
